What is a credit card verification number?
The card verification number (also known as the card security code) appears on most major credit and debit cards.  It’s a security feature that helps prevent fraud by confirming that the customer placing the order has possession of the card. For most cards, it’s the last 3 numbers printed on the back of your card. For American Express cards, it’s 4 numbers on the front of the card just to the right and above the card number.
