Why can't I send a payment for goods and services with my credit card?

There are a few reasons why you might not be able to send a payment for goods and services with your credit card:

  • Have you reached the spending limit on your credit card? Contact your card issuer to find out.

If you’re not able to send a payment for goods and services with your credit card, you may be able to complete the transaction by paying with your US bank account.

Linking your US bank account to your PayPal account is secure and easy. If you do online banking, you can usually link your US bank account in a few minutes.

Once you’ve linked your US bank to your PayPal account, you're protected when you pay for goods and services. Merchants get paid for goods and services but they never see your bank information. They won’t even know which bank you use.
