How can I raise a complaint to PayPal?
Before you raise a complaint
If you’re having an issue related to:
- a transaction or purchase with a seller, or
- a payment that you don’t recognise or suspect was unauthorised, or
- suspicious/unauthorised activity on your account
Please go through the online dispute resolution process in the Resolution Centre. To open
a dispute, please log into your PayPal account, select the relevant transaction, and click Report
a Problem. You will be asked to provide details.
We aim to offer you excellent customer service, but we may not get it right every time. So, if you’re not satisfied with the outcome of your dispute or wish to submit a complaint about an issue not covered by the Resolution Centre, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to find a solution quickly and fairly.
Raising a complaint
Here's how to submit your complaint from a web browser:
- Go to ‘Complaints’ on the PayPal website.
- Click Submit a complaint about PayPal.
- Select a reason for the complaint.
- Provide details about the complaint.
- Click Submit Complaint.
We’ll send you an acknowledgement of the filed complaint within 10 calendar days, unless we can resolve it sooner.
We’ll do our best to provide you with our final answer or resolution to your complaint within 15 calendar days.
In exceptional circumstances, where we need more time to respond, we’ll let you know and explain why. In any event, our final response will be sent no later than 30 calendar days after we receive your complaint.
