When designing PassPort, PayPal asked small business owners about the challenges of selling internationally. Many struggled with confusing customs processes and currency exchange, unpredictable delivery tracking and postal services, and unclear seasonal sales cycles. Even businesses that already sell internationally were unaware of other countries’ cultural events and holidays that could provide opportunities to expand sales.
Will the data and insights on PassPort be updated to reflect new global trade trends?
PassPort content will be regularly updated so small business owners can access the most up-to-date data and tools to enhance their global sales. In the future, the site will feature additional data, currencies, case studies, and countries to ensure robust geographic representation.
What countries or regions are represented on PassPort?
The countries featured in PassPort represent key cross border corridors inside the PayPal network, based on their current sales growth rates and regional significance, making them ideal candidates to serve as resources for PayPal merchants. We continually work to add more countries, and the full list can be seen in the drop-down menus in the Tools section.
