Why is my payment from an eBay sale on hold in my PayPal account? When will it be available?
When you get paid for items sold on eBay, your payment might be put in your pending balance if you’re a new seller or have a “Below Standard” seller rating on eBay, or if the payment may involve a higher level of risk.
Rest assured that these funds still belong to you. They're just temporarily unavailable for use until your buyer has received the item they ordered in the condition promised. As long as there is no other issue, the funds are usually released within 21 days of receipt. (Note: The payment may not be released until later in the day).
How can I get my eBay payment sooner?
If your account is subject to payment holds, here are some ways that may help make your payment available sooner:
- If you provide the tracking number of your package in the Transaction Details page, your payment should be available 3 days after we confirm the delivery date.
- If you mark the item as shipped in the Transaction Details page, your payment should be available 7 days after your latest estimated delivery date (or 14 days for international shipments).
- After you update the order status, your buyer will have the option to confirm the receipt in the Transaction Details page. Your payment will be available 3 days after they confirm receiving your item.
- If you fulfil the order but don’t update the order status, your payment should be released after 21 days, as long as your buyer doesn’t report a problem with the transaction.
