Do I have to file a PayPal Buyer Protection claim within a certain timeframe?
Yes. First, open a dispute within 45 days of your payment and try to work out the problem with the seller through the Dispute Resolution process in the Resolution Center. If you're unable to resolve the dispute, you can escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days of the date the dispute was opened. If you do not escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days, PayPal will close the dispute.
