When I make an eCheque payment, when will the money be debited from my bank account?
PayPal sends the request to your bank as soon as you make the payment. Just like a regular cheque, it can take up to five working days for the payment to clear and the money to be deposited into the recipient’s PayPal account.
A bank may refuse an eCheque payment. For example, a payment will be refused if you don’t have enough money in your bank account. If this happens, the payment can be delayed up to seven more working days.
You’ll always find the date we expect the payment to clear on the Transaction Details page. To find out your eCheque’s expected clearing date:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click History at the top of the page.
- Click the Details link of the transaction. The expected clearing date is next to the status of the transaction.
