Electronic Delivery Policy for United States Tax Statements
Electronic Delivery Policy for United States Tax Statements
Last Update: Oct 09, 2012
You agree and consent to receive electronically all United States federal and state tax statements that PayPal is required to make available to you. We provide these tax statements in connection with your PayPal account and your use of our services. Your consent applies to all tax statements provided to you after you give your consent or until you withdraw your consent. If you don’t consent to receive your tax statements electronically, we’ll mail them to you.
Hardware and software requirements
To access and retain your tax statements, you'll need access to the following computer hardware and software:
- A computer with an Internet connection.
- A web browser that includes 128-bit encryption (for example, Internet Explorer version 6.0+ or equivalent) with cookies enabled.
- Software (for example, Adobe Acrobat Reader version 8.0+ or equivalent) capable of opening PDF files.
- Sufficient storage space to save tax statements or a printer.
You must also maintain a valid primary email address in your PayPal account Profile.
When you give your consent, you confirm that you have access to the hardware and software described. You also confirm that you are able to download, receive, open, and print a copy of any tax statement.
How to withdraw your consent
If you want to withdraw your consent to receive tax statements electronically, write to us at "Attention: Electronic Communications Delivery Policy, P.O. Box 45950, Omaha, NE 68145-0950, USA". You can also contact us using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any page on the PayPal.com website. After you withdraw your consent, your preference will only apply to tax statements provided to you after that date.
Requesting paper copies of tax statements
If you’d like us to mail you a paper copy of a tax statement that you’ve consented to receive electronically, use the contact methods described previously. When you ask us to mail a tax statement to you, you aren’t withdrawing your consent to receive future tax statements electronically.
Updating your contact information
You're responsible for keeping the primary email and your street address in your PayPal account Profile current. We need your email address to communicate with you electronically. To modify your email address or street address, log in to your PayPal account and select the "Profile" tab. If your primary email address is invalid and we are unable to communicate electronically with you, PayPal may consider your PayPal account to be inactive. As a result, we may limit what you can do with your PayPal account until you update your Profile with a current primary email address. Be sure that any spam filters on your primary email account don't block or re-route PayPal emails.
