How do I obtain a client ID if I’m a developer integrating PayPal for a merchant?

The client ID and client secret authenticate a merchant’s account with PayPal and are required for integrating our REST API Checkout. Only the account holder can set up a client ID and secret.

If you’re a developer integrating Checkout on behalf of a third-party merchant, ask the merchant to share their client ID and client secret with you. If the merchant hasn’t set up these credentials yet, they can create one by completing the steps described in our developer documentation.
