Sending Money Between PayPal & Venmo
PayPal users and Venmo users now have the ability to pay each other across platforms. This option is available in the U.S. and many additional global markets. On PayPal, you're able to search for eligible Venmo users by their phone number, and you’ll appear in Venmo results too.

How do I find a Venmo user on PayPal?
To find a Venmo user on the PayPal app, search for the account by entering the full phone number associated with the recipient’s Venmo account. If you can’t find the person you’re looking for:
- Double-check that you’ve entered the full phone number associated with the recipient’s Venmo account
- Ask the recipient to check their Search privacy settings and make sure their account is visible on PayPal
- It’s possible that the feature isn’t yet available in your country or region
Can I use PayPal to send and request money from friends & family on Venmo?
PayPal & Venmo users can send and receive payments between each other. At this time, payment requests are not possible across platforms.
How can Venmo users find me?
You can adjust whether you are searchable for Venmo users in your Privacy settings. When you update your search privacy to include People on Venmo, you will allow people on Venmo to find and pay your PayPal account using your phone number, and later by using your email address.
Are there any fees to send money to a Venmo account?
There are no fees to send money to Venmo users within the US for all PayPal users when using your balance, PayPal debit card, or bank.

Are there any limits to send money to a Venmo account?
There are limits when sending money internationally:
- Per Transaction: $2,500
- Daily Limit: $5,000
- Weekly Limit: $10,000
- Monthly: $25,000
Why is my card unavailable when I try to send money to a Venmo account?
In some cases, Mastercard debit and credit cards will be disabled for payments to Venmo users. This will happen when the recipient doesn’t have a physical address associated with their Venmo account. You can use a different card or bank account to make the payment. Alternatively, advise the Venmo recipient to complete identity verification so you can use your desired card.
How long will it take for the Venmo recipient to get my payment?
PayPal payments are sent to the recipient right away. If your payment is successfully completed, the recipient should see it on their end immediately. However, timing will vary based on your recipient’s country or region.
Who can send international payments to Venmo users?
Once the functionality is available in your country or region, you can send money to Venmo from PayPal from over 90 countries including China, India, United Kingdom, Columbia, and more! Remember, Venmo is only available in the US.
Can I cancel a personal transfer?
You can typically cancel a transfer if the money has not yet reached your recipient. As transfers between PayPal accounts are instant, and most reloads and bill payments are completed within minutes, you usually can’t cancel these types of transaction once they’re authorized.
