Why are there limits on my account and how can I remove them?

When you sign up for a PayPal account, we only ask for essential information so you can start using your account immediately. 

Initially, all PayPal accounts are limited in terms of sending, receiving and withdrawing money.

To remove these limits, we ask you to confirm some information about yourself and/or your online business by carrying out some or all of the steps below:

  • Link and confirm a bank account
  • Link and confirm a debit or credit card
  • Provide information about your business (if applicable)
  • Confirm your account information
