Why has my account been restricted?

Restricting access to a PayPal account is a temporary measure to protect your account.

An account may be restricted for several reasons. To see why your account has been restricted, please go to the Resolution Center in your PayPal account.

While your account is restricted, we ask you to provide additional information. Once you have completed all the required steps, we will check the account and – where possible – remove the restriction.

Follow these steps to complete the required steps:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Resolve a problem in the Resolution Center.
  3. Select Open Cases.
  4. Click Resolve.

If you need additional help, please contact us using the Help & Contact link at the bottom of any PayPal page.
