What is the PayPal Partner Fundraising Platform and how does my charity sign up?
The PayPal Partner Fundraising Platform connects charities with online fundraising tools and sites and most importantly, more donors.
Give at Checkout enables donors to give to their favourite charity each time they check out online with PayPal.
Charities can encourage customers to set their favourite charity within the PayPal App or PayPal Fundraising Site. After customers mark a charity as a favourite, it’ll always show up on their checkout page.
PayPal doesn’t charge charities, or individual donors, transaction fees for donations made through its own programmes, including Give at Checkout. In some cases, our partners may charge a fee on donations made through their platforms, which they disclose on their websites.
Our current fundraising partners include Deed and Twitch. Deed is an employee-giving platform and Twitch is a platform for live video streaming. Through our partnership, Twitch creators can select the charity that they'd like their viewers to donate to via their live stream.
How to enrol in 3 steps:
Any registered charity with a confirmed charity account with PayPal is eligible to enrol in the PayPal Partner Fundraising platform, subject to meeting our requirements.
- To enrol with PayPal Partner Fundraising, your charity needs to have a PayPal Business account. If you don't have one, you can sign up now.
- Once you've set up your PayPal Business account, you'll need to confirm that your PayPal account belongs to a charity. Becoming a confirmed charity with PayPal also allows you to qualify for PayPal's special-discounted charity rate. An example of information required includes:
- Proof of identity
- Charity details
- Charity bank account information
- Letter of Authorisation (downloadable template is provided at this stage of enrolment). A letter of Authorisation must be signed by either a Managing Director, CEO, Chairperson, or CFO of the charity.
- After you receive an email confirming that your charity status is approved with PayPal, your charity will need to complete our short enrolment form.
After completing enrolment, you’re added to our charity database and partner’s fundraising sites. We’ll share your charity’s name, location, mission statement, and logo. Our partners will display some or all this information. You can update your charity details at any time.
If your charity would like to opt out from featuring on one of our partner sites, please let our customer support team know.
Donations made to your organisation are sent to your PayPal account and include donation amount, donor name, email address and home address (if the donor has opted-in to share their details). Your charity can use this information to send a donation receipt to the donor. Please don’t use this information to share marketing materials unless you obtain separate consent from a donor to do so.
